Our first NE Show

On Saturday 18th July 2009, Endeavour's first Primary 5 class went for our first NE Show at the floating platform. Prior to that, we had our own fashion parade and selected our winning entries for the NE Show Tshirt Design competition. We also have a special award for a special contestant.

I enjoyed the fireworks the most. Did you manage to catch the heart-shape on? Which is your favourite part of this year's NDP?

Design Your Own EDP NE Show T-shirt

Making your own stencil
  • Using a pen or fine marker, trace your design onto the clear holder.
  • Cut out the parts you want to paint on your T-shirt.
  • You have made your own stencil!
Painting the Tshirt

•Place a protective backing underneath the design area
•This is to prevent the paint from staining the other side of the T-shirt
•Stretch your T-shirt and clip it to the cardboard using clothes pegs

Using a stencil
•Place the stencil on the T-shirt
•Dab in the cutout area by ‘tapping’ the brush on the T-shirt
•Carefully remove/ peel the stencil
•Wipe the stencil clean/ dry with a tissue & return to the backing for storage
•Wait for the paint to dry before continuing
•The first coat of paint appears pink. Wait for it to dry before applying the next coat.

Using a foam stamp
•Dab paint on the foam
•Carefully position the stamp
•Press the stamp firmly down and remove it
•The print will appear pink
•To make it white, wait for the paint to dry before using a brush to apply the next coat of paint

Making your design washable
•When your design is completed, allow it to dry
•Use a clothes hanger
•Use a fabric marker to highlight and tidy up your design
To fix colour:
cover painted area with a clean cloth and iron on a very hot setting for 1 to 2 minutes
Things to note:
•Use a dry brush
•Do not use too much paint
•Dab the extra paint on newspaper before painting on the T-shirt

National Orange Ribbon Celebrations: Star Pledge

National Orange Ribbon Celebrations is a signature event in July to celebrate Racial Harmony and a focal point to promote understanding, appreciation and trust among Singapore's multi-racial and multi-religious society.

The aim of the Star Pledge is to gather youths to make a pledge towards promoting Racial Harmony through a simple gesture. The Organising Committee has prepared for materials which is meant to be folded into stars and the students are encouraged to write their pledge on the star. The target is to collect a total of 10,000 pledges in support for the Orange Ribbon Celebrations. Endeavour Primary School will pledge 300 stars.

I would like to thank the Primary 3 to 5 Form teachers and Subject teachers; as well as the Primary 3 to 5 pupils for their support in this event.
